Hello all, I have a JBJ 45 flat panel thats about 2.5 years old. After seeing people with issues with the tank leaking once they're a couple of years old, I am considering swapping everyone over to a 40-breeder tank. that has left me with some questions:

1) Can I use this as an opportunity to create an NSA? I was considering hammering at my live rock to break it up and just spraying it regularly with a bottle of salt water while I made the NSA in the new tank. Will I experience a significant cycle from this? I am not opposed to the idea of adding beneficial bacteria.

2) How should I go about coaxing the anemones to detach? I tried to detach one once by blasting it with water and it just kinda shriveled up and refused to move.

3) How can I incorporate two pumps for reactors? I have a BRS media reactor and a phytotank algae reactor and arent quite sure how I can put the pumps in the display without them sucking up sand and such.. wondering if my best bet is to try and make something like this - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/all-...llon-breeder-aquariums-3rd-gen-fiji-cube.html or if theres anything else i can try.

thanks!

Well I can answer two of those lol with the NSA I would keep them in a bucket of saltwater and then spray them down as your breaking them up and using them. It wouldn’t hurt to have some turbo start on hand when putting it back in the tank.

As far as the anemone goes I would position a power head really close to it and have it blast it right at the foot until it either moves or detaches. Just make sure your there when it comes off or it might get chopped up in the power head.

Thanks! Maybe I just didn’t have enough flow. They haven’t moved in years and I’m sure once I set up a new tank they’ll be wonderers lol
