Hi,
I am new to the game (first batch of corals) ... I have a dozen corals in QT. They include Zoa's, favia, platygyra and frogspawn. They are currently in a 10 gallon QT tank with just a powerhead, heater and Kessil light. They've been in there for about 45 days now. I dipped them when they first went in. I have not noticed any pests ... famous last words I suppose.
I believe it is time to move them to my main display. There is a pretty good patch of algae in the 10 gallon. I have a few questions if anyone can help.
1. Should I dip them again?
2. Is there something I can use to get rid of the algae before I move them?
3. Is there a preferential time of day to move them?
4. Some people recommend putting them in the substrate for the first day or two, but since mine have been in QT now, does that still hold. I guess the lighting will be different, and the water chemistry to some extent.
Any thoughts, or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Drew
