I can empathize. Sucks when u pump out more water than you have on hand. If it were to happen again, I would just turn off the return, move the heater to the dt, and let the ph'ds provide your flow for 12 hours while you mix more salt.

Yes, that was me being lazy.

System shock from:
Salinity too high/low
Alk swing
Temperature swing

Yes, since I didn't have enough water I think the 10 gallons of RO water dropped salinity a bit, and also dropped the ALK, AND dropped the temp 2 degrees. So the next day when I raised the ALK swing it hurt even more.

Montis are still dying guys. My parameters are nitrates 20, Ca 450, Alk 8.15, sg 1.025. Ph was a little high right now at 8.5. Is there poison in the water or something???? All other coral and fish are fine. Should I do a water change?
I fragged some montipora do distance them from the mother colony and they died in less than a day.

Alk has been stable at around 8.0 for over a week and now a chalice is turning white. Should Alk be at 9.0?

Also, I do see some Astrina sea stars under some of the coral like the Chalice. Can it be that they are eating them??
