Microalgae Identification and Control?

Hello! Does anybody know what kind of microalgae this is? If so, how can I control it? My snails don't really consume it, and it is very hard to scrape off as this algae is solid stuck on the glass. I Typically use course filter foam to wipe away algae, but even my metal scraper doesn't do a good job. I appreciate all suggestions!

Scraping is a good remedy for cleaning the glass.

Do you know what kind of algae this is though? I've never seen it before, and it is unsightly compared to diatoms and hair algae.

If the tank is new, keep at least some of it for now before scraping it...its probably preventing worse types of algae from growing because it has colonized the surface and created a biofilm.

Sorry, don’t know what it is. The red round colonies are interesting. There is a red algae growing in Long Island Sound that gives rocks a deep red coat.
