I’d like to reintroduce you to a clownfish many of you are likely familiar with at this point—and it seems she’s added something to her resume!
As of today, Luxo can no longer be considered reef safe, as I watched her decimate my anacropora, as it was slightly too close to her anemone. I never thought I could consider a clownfish a danger to corals, and yet I have witnessed Luxo tear an entire branch from a coral and drag it to the floor, where she repeatedly bit at it until it was in a bunch of tiny pieces. I am both shocked and horrified. Beware fish, and corals, of Luxo.

Is your clownfish at least friendly with you? Will he leave your hand alone when you’re trying to clean the inside of the tank?
Nope, the fish will literally bite the hand that feeds her.

I have seen clowns do that if you move corals around especially the ones they have hosted in. Although this does seem extreme

Exactly—I would remove her from the tank, but she’s become too iconic.
I personally wont allow you to remove her :grinning-face-with-sweat:.
gives me a laugh every dang time. I have a similar idiot in my tank but nothing as near to yours.

So, do the clowns start biting when they get older? Mine were small when I got them about 7 months ago, so not fully grown. They tend to shy away when my hand goes in the tank. Or are they just baiting me, setting me up not to fear them?
It's a trap ... Don't fall for it !
