Here are some FAQ's we received at the recent Reefapalooza show here in Cali:

Q: Is the Mariner stand cabinet made of MDF or particle board?
A: NO. The Mariner aquarium stand is made of high-quality solid Marine-grade plywood.

Q: Are the plumbing Metric?
A: Our plumbing is measured by Imperial (US Standard).

Q: Glass Thickness of the Mariner 130?
A: Glass Thickness of the Mariner 130 is 3/4" all around. The Mariner 100 is 5/8" thick all around, and the Mariner 70 is 1/2" thick all around. All tanks have corner guards to protect the seams and silicone and bottom bracing for added strength. All are glued using only the highest quality black lacquer German silicone.

Q: How long is the warranty on the Mariner?
A: Mariner aquariums come with 4 years warranty.

2 questions as I’m interested in the 130…

I couldn’t tell from the pic, but is there an overflow cutout of some sort in the first dividing wall of the sump where the filter socks are in case they are clogged and water level rises?

Am I able to cut a hole in the dividing wall of the cabinet to sneak a kalkwasser reactor drain line through to get from the ATO section to the sump without affecting stand integrity?

Thanks!

Good questions.

The first chamber where the filter socks and drains are have a backup weir on the top of the divider for safety. Standard with all ESHOPPS sumps.

Regarding your second question, I would like to remind you that any modifications made to the stand, tank, and any of its components will void the warranty. On that note, the stand is made of Marine grade plywood, it is made to last a very long time. If you do drill make sure to seal the wood after. Also, there are holes at the back of both panels of the cabinet and also in the divider between sump and dry compartment.

I hope these answers help. I appreciate your interest. If you have any more questions, feel free to let me know.

Oh, just saw that part. How high up is the hole in the divider? That may be perfect…
