I have had an outbreak for about 2 weeks it wasn't bad for me to worry I dropped the salinity and it appeared to be going away. One day one fish, a different fish than the one that was the original host, was covered in it and the next day all of my fish are covered. I'm starting to feel like I can't turn this ich around. I have before in the past but this one is a ****** case. It's getting progressively worse and only one of my fish, black saddleback clownfish, has gotten cloudy eyes. Also on the bsc it looks like the slime coat on it's face is flaking off. Could just be the ich but it's looking bad. I have 2 questions... 1 is there any way that I can get back on top of this ich outbreak before any fish dies and 2 how can I cure the cloudy eyes and prevent anymore from getting it? I'll post some pics of the bsc to show somewhat of what I'm talking about...

Lowering the salinity just stresses the fish more and makes it worse idk why people recomend doing it.to beat ich you need to feed the fisb well and try to keep your hands out of the tank other then feeding.if you try catching the fish it will just make it worse but again people will recomend you to do just that.this is why I stress to just feed and leave the fish alone and it will be fine.healthy non stressed fish fight off ich with ease its no big deal.sry to hear about your fish I hope they pull through just keep them fed well hopefully the salinity didnt stress them to much.goodluck keep us updated

Yup thats all it takes but people start telling others to do hypo or freshwater dips and stuff and all that does is kills peoples fish

Thank you sooooo much for the help! I never knew that dropping it would stress them out. I will begin feeding them every night from now on. None look like they're in danger of dieing all look healthy as can be active and avid eaters. They're just covered in ich :/. This is my first bad outbreak.

Hypo salinity does work and is one of the only ways of actually killing marine ich. Now if you do it wrong it can stress the fish out. Doing it wrong would be dropping the salinity all at once. Feeding garlic soaked food does help but you have to realize it doesn't kill the ich it only allows the fish to fight off the infestation better.

There is nothing wrong with feeding healthy food to boost the immune system. You just have to realize the implications that go along with that treatment. When you add a new fish to the system you have a greater chance of having an outbreak. When water conditions are fluctuating then you risk an outbreak. When the fish just aren't happy you risk an outbreak.

Just because one person had a bad experience with hypo salinity doesn't make it a bad thing. Do some research and you'll see that it is a very trusted treatment
