i’ve never seen this or had this happen to me but i could not find my six line wrasse for days and days and figured he jumped out but could never find him.. just now im looking at my hob overflow and seen a dark spot.. im not sure if he had already died and floated into it. or while sleeping but i know they typically wedge themselves so i dont see it happening.. he was sucked so far behind the actual overflow where it hangs onto the glass and was shredded so god knows how long he was there for. What should he my next course of action before i have an ammonia spike and kill my livestock? I have carbon/gfo running rn and ill just mix up a batch of salt water

Just remove him from the filter, I would not take any sort of actions they’re too small to nuke your tank unless we’re talking a 5 gallon tank. For peace of mind you could do a 10-20% water change though.

Sorry for the loss though, that always sucks.

Everything seems fine today did a 10% wc last night after letting the surface skim all the remnants, he wasn’t in the actual overflow he was still in my dt but just sandwiched against the box and the glass.. how he got in there i have absolutely no clue my guess is he somehow got sucked while sleeping or died which id assume they’d just fall to the bottom and get taken over by cuc so idk.. i had a bjd outbreak and treated with cipro which removed some bacteria and along with my pod population which i haven’t added for maybe 1-2 months now so that’s my other guess if he starved but would always see him eat regular food but was kind of skiddish… surprisingly my mandrian is fine he actually eats various types of food like brine shrimp and benepets lol
