Local pickup in Eagle Rock next to Glendale.
Can provide more photos/videos upon request. I have a lot of other torches not listed as well.
Coral Kai Reef IG
  • Shipping available for a flat rate of $50. Will only ship Mon/Tue/Wed with FedEx Priority Overnight. Coral goes to whoever sends payment 1st. Free shipping at $400
  • If for any reason your corals arrive with issues, please take a picture of the coral while inside the transport jar within 2 hours of delivery and we can work out a replacement or refund.
  • I'm easy to work with. We can figure out something that's fair to both parties in the worse case scenario of a FedEx delay. These corals are able to handle a 1 day delay with no problem since all the torches listed have been in my system for over 3 months. Thursday delays mean they arrive Monday morning which is why I only ship Mon/Tue/Wed.
    • I will ship Thurs for Friday delivery if you are in California/West Coast
    • I can also hold corals for a reasonable amount of time to account for schedules or if you just want to wait out the cold weather
  • The torches are shipped in 16oz jars with 3d printed holders to keep them fixed during transit

My understanding is banana torch is yellow tentacle with purple mouth area and some purple at the base of the tentacles

Banana grails don’t have any purple. They are green mouth and green base that blend into yellow

I also think Malaysian have slightly thicker and shorter tentacle

I guess for me that Banana grail is what I call a banana. The other one would be a gold to me

This torch I wouldn’t be listing as a banana … has a dark center … still a great torch but will probably just hold on to it cause I can’t sell it as a banana

From what I find, Indo gold does not have solid yellow tentacles and they have purple stripe

From other vendors

Banana has a purple / dark center, usually a green mouth, but the tentacles do not have purple lines. They become solid yellow

How would you differentiate between a banana and a banana hg?
to be honest i dont know why theres 2 names? to be it would probably be the same thing...

and how i define a banana is anything that doesnt have dark spots and has light colored tips (not blue or purple)

over time, bananas have looked so different from each other so maybe someone felt it was worth naming them differently...who knows

here's some of my Indo bananas that Ive had over time

Too many trade names and no standardization.

Any of the gold torches - Indo gold, knicks etc are just gold torches, tentacles that are half purple, and various color tips

Banana grail I always felt was yellow tentacles, green base, and no purple anywhere. tentacles mixed green and yellow

Banana I always felt was tentacles at least 90% solid yellow, with a darker center and green mouth. The dark center typically goes up the tentacle the first centimeter or two but then becomes solid yellow and doesn’t carry the purple line to the tip

Not arguing. Just offering what I found through my purchasing and researching these torches. Again, there doesn’t seem to be much standardization.

Same … would be really hard to standardize… just because corals produce so many colors … but yeah … that’s the best part of this hobby (the colors part)
