I received a haddoni and Sebae and they ended up dying along with a few other nems that wasted away before I could save them. I have a couple I managed to get treated and seem to be doing okay.

I tried a print this morning that I stopped right away, first layers were messy and looked like the z offset was out of whack. So I turned off and cooled down and found that the nozzle was gooey, took the rubber cover off and it's all over the hot end. Could this be a leak somewhere from my tear down the other day?

I'm to clean and try to adjust the z offset and try again, but now I'm worried I did mess up something.....

@Projects with Sam @tbrown and the rest of the 3d print crew, any ideas?

I also have been using new random brand silk 3color PLA the last few days, maybe it's just fussy? I tried reg petg this morning.

Womp womp.

Yeah. I definitely did something on reassembly. Way too much on top there so think it came from the nozzle going upward, I was hoping z offset was shmooshing filament up, but no. That is definitely leaking from between here.

Sounds like Z-offset is too close maybe? Or over extruding? Causes filament to not fully extrude and causes gooey globs at the nozzle.

When you swapped the nozzle did you preheat the hotend?

Is this a thing? Maybe I should go back to the tube and watch more videos.

I've left the rubber cover off to try to see where it's coming from. Leveling now and will try a z offset test print.

Would nozzle leaking cause it to deposit on top? The rubber cover was on, so I imagine it might have reached all the way up there?

When my nozzle plugged up the entire hot end was covered. Heat it up and wipe the excess PLA off with a disposable rag or paper towel (it gets hot so be careful with your fingers). Mine was from a bad Z-offset I believe.

But yes, they say you have to heat the hotend while swapping nozzles or it can cause problems. I haven't changed my nozzle yet so I've yet to experience it.

You removed the heat block from the heatsink?

If so it's possible you didn't tighten it enough.

@tbrown is right, preheat and tighten the nozzle a bit if possible. Don't torque it, but I have changed nozzles a few times and if not tight enough they can leak.

Ok I'll give it a snug.

Z offset looks better after adjustment. Why after each auto leveling cycle does it change the z offset so much? Another read for another day.

Trying the print that failed earlier.
