Just picked up some macro for my new display macro tank. Its tied into my 75 via the sump and I'm wondering how long and what time should I have the light on.

I've heard different things, 24 hours, just 8-10hrs, when ever the 75 is off.....

There is also a pair of clowns, firefish, and a tailspot blenny in the tank as well.

Here's a pic. I plan on getting some dragons breath as well as what I have (which I can't think of the names of)

I run mine when the display tank lights are off, it helps with pH swings and it's enough light for the macro. Some people light it 24/7 but it's not necessary IMO, especially since you have fish in the tank as well.

Up to you, yoiu can run it 24/7 like I do, theres really no reason to shut off the light, or run it opposite your DT lights, that helps maintain PH.

I was running 24/7 but I have changed to doing a reverse cycle. If you have fish in that tank you really should have time with lights out.

IME you should run your lights long enough the macros thrive but not so long algae and cyano show up.
