Hello fellow reefers,
I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Luke, and this is my first (and only) reef tank and needless to say I've become addicted! Bought the nano cube used off craigslist and started it as a FOWLR a little over a year ago.
Started to get the coral itch a couple months later and got sick of the look of the stock nano cube hqi lighting so I took off the hood, added a d120 led light, and pried off the rim to make it rimless (and to help with oxygen exchange.)
The corals are absolutely loving it. I currently have a purple stylophora, green "medusa" montipora, red planet acro, 4 different seriatoporas, green star polyp, green toadstool leather, green ricordia, and a rainbow trachyphyllia. 2 clownfish.
Equipment: 3 hydor koralias, maxijet return pump, another circulation pump, and tunze 9001 protein skimmer. Got chemipure in my overflow filter along with purigen and phosguard. I do bi-monthly water changes with RO/DI water and Red Sea Coral Pro Salt. I don't dose anything besides a Seachem's 8.4 when my ph gets low.
I think that covers mostly everything! Got some pics below (although I'm not the best photographer)
Thanks for looking!
