Just looking for opinions and advice on the aquascape. At about 45 lbs of rocks so far in the tank. 60 gallon tank and a 20 gallon sump. Didn't want to overcrowd it but don't want to have to little for biological filtration.
There's no places for fish to hide at night. They need lots of caves where they can't be seen. I have a dozen or more caves where fish can hide at night and feel safe and not visible. You need to create these areas for your livestock. It's also a 65g display like yours.
So how much rock do you have there in lb., and what size tank? While I like it, I also agree that if you are going to have fish, they really do not have shelter. While I like the minimalist aquascape visually, I think it is hard to combine that with fish caves and territories. For instance I have 4 fish and a shrimp currently in a 75g, and each fish has a cave they sleep in. I am planning to add one more fish soon, but before I do so, I need to create at least two more caves, as I really do not have any available shelter spots. With at least 2 new spots if a current tenant gets evicted, at least they will be able to find shelter, and hopefully the newbie will choose one of the new spots off the bat.
