Potentially a stupid question…

But can cultured live foods (the ones you buy in bags) such as brine shrimp or copepods, introduce diseases like white spot into your aquarium? I assumed not due to the live foods being cultured in systems and not having a host in the water to reproduce… but now I’m struggling to find an answer

Possibly, yes, but it's extremely unlikely - since they don't have fish in them, the culture would have to be contaminated somehow within 45-60 days or less of ending up in your aquarium.

So, unless someone is regularly practicing questionable culture procedures, it's extremely unlikely for a culture to be contaminated.

This is the risk of using live foods - and as everyone else has said - anything's possible. Sorry this doesn't give a clear answer. My guess that many of the 'popular'. foods. irriidate them

Some brine shrimp is cultured in outdoor ponds in the keys. Those can introduce wild pathogens. Tank cultured live foods might carry some bacteria, but typically don’t harbor obligate fish parasites.
