Lighting recommendations based on height

Hello there everyone. Its been a while since I've been on but I have a question. What's a good light that can be mounted closer than 8" from water surface. I have 2 Current USA IC pros now but I would like to start putting corals in the tank and I've read that those lights don't have the par to grow corals. Is that true? Do I need to upgrade?

Tank is 24"L x 15"W x 13"H. Water level is about 1" from top of tank.

I would go for the new Aqua illumination blade 1 should be all you need for that Size tank. It’s the best bang for buck in my opinion.

First which model?

Do you run them on full or not?

So you have a shallow 20gal tank.

Any light with wide lenses/reflectors will do. 120 degrees is common.

I don't see IC Pros for 24" tanks.

So one "set" Now 42 or 54 Watts?
18-24, 24-36?

PAR is at least 100 at the bed....on 100%
Per manuf and a guesstimate.

I have a similar sized tank and I run two quanta pro bars. Mine are about 12 inches up and honestly still a ton of light.

They don't have an option to lower the intensity. You can adjust the light spectrum/color but not intensity. That was one of the reasons I was looking to upgrade.

It's a shallow tank. The sand bed is about 1" thick which gives a water column of about 11" or so.

I have a similar sized tank and I run two quanta pro bars. Mine are about 12 inches up and honestly still a ton of light.

12 inches is too high. My tank sits under my TV so I don't have too much space.

If you get the 24 inch that 40w that should be plenty for softy and lps if you get two that’s plenty light for sps.

That doesn't sound like Current.

To Program DAYLIGHT

Well you are limited to 3 data points besides night/ moon.

Sunrise ....daylight... sunset
In daylight just set all colors to say 50%.
Equal to 50% global dimming ..

The only issue I have is I'm just wondering if these lights are enough for corals. The lights are good for the fish that I have now.

To be honest I just got the upgrade bug so I figured I'd ask around.

Yea I was feeling that...

What you can or can't grow is dependent on species demand.
At 100 par (estimate) at the substrate and much more higher well others can advise you what you can grow.

I'm looking to have mainly softies and sps. These lights should be enough to handle that but like I said...new stuff is nice
