So I noticed this small grey patch appearing on it yesterday kinda breathing funny but he always acted like this wife found him stuck on Powerheadno pics sorry but he did have slightly rapid breathing still kinda ate but not like he use to any thoughts and how important is water change at the moment the fish is no longer in tank

How new/old is your tank? Tank size? Have you checked water parameters? Ammonia/nitrate/phosphate? How long have you had the clown? What other fish do you have in the tank?

You removed the clown. Now it's time to find some answers, so you can avoid fish loss in the future. You will definitely get help here.

33long tank 7-8 months and 56 months but got him as a little thing I got him he had this grey patches before but went away but then it came back

Hi, more background information is needed, as well as perhaps a short video. I can see an issue in the picture of this "bruising" issue we are seeing in clownfish here. I've never had one show this myself, so I don't know the cause. I started a thread, but nobody else seems to know what this is either:

Hi, more background information is needed, as well as perhaps a short video. I can see an issue in the picture of this "bruising" issue we are seeing in clownfish here. I've never had one show this myself, so I don't know the cause. I started a thread, but nobody else seems to know what this is either:

Unfortunately the fish passed overnight that is the only photo I have this bruising went away before and this time it actually came back I will do some reading into this thank you for your response and thread link

Sorry to hear and just saw this. I dont believe this is anything to do with water quality however often a weakened fish from illness or aggression and sounds like it became moribund which is similar to a coma state and generally at this stage the fish declines until loss
