So my wife and I went to get a 6line, some sort of sand sifter, and likely a coral... Wandering around, checking things out, finding several 6lines, 2 corals, and found out they had no sand sifting fish in stock.

We're done, find someone for help, point out the 6line, "THat's not for sale, that's part of our clean up crew". Okay, fine, are there any other 6lines for sale? Nope, there aren't. Can I help you with anything else? Poof, gone.

They had at least 6 of them, none for sale, and the salesperson was pretty rude, and we just ended up walking out.

This can't be normal I'm hoping.

Was the fish in a holding / for sale tank or a coral reef ?

At my lfs any free swimming fish in reef tanks or frag tanks are nfs.

Only fish in the for sale tanks and fish only tanks are for sale. the other tanks are For coral sales but the fish are in there for a reason and too difficult to capture

Ya it depends because if it is in the frag/coral tank, they would damage corals trying to catch it. It’s there to control pests. Usually a wrasse and maybe a Tang.

They probably could have been more helpful and offered to order a 6line and sandsifting goby for you as both are easy to acquire.

Six lines can be real jerks, make sure you really want one or maybe add it towards the end of the stocking list.

Well, my blue powder tang and foxface came from the same store, in a tank with frags.

At the very least it is quite inconsistent.

What I learned was that if there's a tag for that particular fish ON the tank, its for sale.

I just find the whole thing weird.
