Hi all

Upgrading from a 3ft cade to red sea 525. I have copper leeching in the cade but it's being managed with cuprisorb, metasorb and polyfilter. Hence why all the new media in the red sea, don't want to bring the copper over.

Is there anyway I can do a whole livestock transfer with new media, live sand and dry rock? I will be starting with fritz turbo. Should I try seed the bio media in another tank first for a few weeks or is that risky and could introduce ich etc?

Moving fish can easily transfer ich.

Search tank transfer method to see how that works.

New live rock from a LFS, or a snail or coral can also transfer ich.

I would slow down, remove the copper from the old tank and bring it all over to the new with the fish and invertebrates from the existing tank, after the ich was removed.

Sorry for the suggestion that you do a bit of work, but it should be the most effective solution.

I had to do an emergency DT QT (ignorance and lesson learned) when I first started. I'm afraid of bringing it all over and contaminating the new media. The levels are now low and corals are finally doing fine but I still have some leeching as the polyfilter is still turning blue after 2 weeks
