So I'm trying to figure out why some sps corals extend polyps and some dont in my tank. It appears it has nothing to do with the health of the coral. My meteor shower, emarld fire digitata, stylolciellnella, tropic thunder monti show no signs of polyp extension yet are growing at a very high rate. I dont believe if they were unhealthy they would grow like this. My stylophora has great polyp extension right near these and is growing great too. So what exactly causes some to extend some not too but yet appear very healthy and growing othewise?

I am hesitant to say this but I cudda swore my corals had PE at/before fish feeding time….
As weird as it sounds, for brainless low life forms they seem to know…

oh they learn. Usually only takes about a few days for them to figure out the lighting schedule in my tank and start to ease into it. THe lps and softies looked closed then start to slowly open during ramp up and right before 100% blasting they open right on que. Pretty sure lighting and food is all they know tho
