Hi All,

I have a large bag of CaribSea Aragonite (Caribsea Geo-Marine Florida Crushed Coral) that's going as substrate in a new Green Spotted Puffer tank (will start as freshwater then transition to brackish/salt over time), I have all my rockwork, wood and now my substrate. I feel I know the answer as the Aragonite is dry and not live like I have used in my reef tank.

HOWEVER, if I rinse the Aragonite, build my scape etc, can this then sit dry for say 3 or 4 weeks while I wait for my external filter to arrive before filling the tank?

Should be fine right?

Thanks all as always,

Chris.

I would be inclined to give it a quick rinse again, especially if there's a little bit of n off smell. Theres going to be some micronial stuff that will get started in it once it's wet and it "may" contribute a little bit to the initial algae as the system matures
