I was part of a surprise lay off on Wednesday, I am depressed and scared and not afraid to say it.
My kids are taking it well one said we can sell her toys if we need to which breaks my heart but makes me so proud of her.
I think if we can admit to when we are scared and depressed it helps people to talk about it and move forward with their lives.
Luckily I buy in bulk so I have enough salt and supplements and food for my reefs for at least a year, and even though I have no motivation to do anything staring at the reef has been a good therapy in some ways.
I know I can get past this, and I know anyone else going thru the same or worse can to but only if we have faith.
Just wanted to put this out there because it is something many people deal with but dont always talk about and wanted everyone going thru this sort of scenario to know they are not alone.
Thank you!

We don't know everything about your situation and being suddenly jobless has to be scary. If it offers any comfort, today's jobs environment is definitely in your favor. You might even end up with a better paying job.

If you're in need of anything to keep your reef healthy, let me know. Except for salt, that is. I don't keep much salt on hand due to the supply issues.

Yeah not sure what industry you're in but being in the tech (fintech) field I can say there probably has never been a better job market for the employee side. I'm seeing stories of people being poached from unrelated fields but which have underlying skills to succeed in new and developing fields. The opportunity to get back on your feet quickly is there now.

Just start putting your resume together. Emphasize not only your accomplishments but what you've learned in your jobs, what you bring to the table. Evaluate what makes you different from others, something an employer would value, and make sure your resume showcases that. This doesn't necessarily come together overnight or in a day. Can take many days and even during the job search process you might tweak your resume based on responses you're getting. All that is okay. Leverage your Linkedin network, search for people that are hiring in their posts.
