Hey everyone! I'm fairly new here!

I have a Laffy Taffy Goni from @TopShelfAquatics that I'm a bit worried about.

It's been perfectly fine for the last 2 months or so. Last week, it started sulking and refuses to extend, and I can't figure out why.

Water Params:
pH: 7.9-8.2
dKH: 8.21
No3: 10
Po4: .1
Ca: 500
Mg: 1350
Salinity: 34.9
Temp: 77
Par: 100-125 (depending on time of day)

I haven't moved it, so the flow hasn't changed on it since day 1 of it being in the tank.

Any thoughts?

Personally I would leave it alone. The parameters seem fine to me. The par seems a little low to me, but if it was happy before I would leave it for now. Make sure it has enough flow down there on the sand, but I once had a goni stay closed for months, but finally opened up. You can try adding mangonese, goni's appreciate mangonese in the water. But unless colour starts fading, I would leave it myself.

Thanks! The pic is a tad deceptive in that it is on a frag rack about 2" up from the bottom. I'll try and move it up another inch or so if things don't improve.

I do dose All For Reef and it has manganese in it. Think I need more than what it offers?

I also dose all for reef, but once or twice a week I do add a few drops of mangonese. I can't say if it really helps them or not, but mine are all happy.

The only one I have seen available (in my area) is the aquaforest brand, which is fine for me, I like their products.

So, I found an issue!

I wanted to see exactly the par range that they were getting so I whipped out my par meter.

They were getting a whopping 41.4 par. Oof. And now that I think of it, I did play with my lights a few weeks ago and turned things down a bit...but did so w/o my par meter.

I just redid my lighting again with the par meter in hand. I also ordered some manganese.

This would also explain why Bilbo, my nem, is also going on an adventure around the tank...

I have goni that live under frag rack with little light and they do fine…. Only two things that came to mind were heavy toxic metals and bacteria infection
