There aren't many things humans have in common with Superman, but one thing we do have in common is that we all have weaknesses. This is especially true in our world of saltwater. Luckily for us, infinite knowledge seems at our fingertips, but even then, it can still be a struggle...

What area of reefing is your weakest?

the tech baffles me. I was never a tech guy. I took O-chem, microbiology, and marine bio and did well i so I figure the chem stuff makes sense to me, though I get lazy with it. Admittedly- applying that knowledge to animals in a glass box is still challenging at times. I don't have the time or inclination to pull out the 4 thousand dollar microscope and look at the morphology of the prokaryotes in every product or sample of water.

The ocean is a very different dynamic than these glass boxes, so academia doesn't adequately prepare you for it.

With me, it's Disease and Pest control. For the upcoming build, I have my equipment researched and figured out. I took 7 bio, 12 chem and 3 zoology courses in college, so I'm good with Biology and Chemistry. Plumbing is no issue. And I know what fish are going in, how and what to feed them and am planning out coral at present (I need real work on coral). But fish disease and pest control intimidates me. And that makes no sense as I WORK in Healthcare!

I've seen a documentary on this tank! It's HUGE! How big is it?
I don't remember, but truly the tank isn't the most impressive thing. You go down stairs and that support system is incredible. He has a Crew that works for him full time keeping the reef going from what I understand. It takes up a lot of space

I never knew how to answer the “if you won the lottery what is you dream purchase?” Question. Until I saw Polo a year ago. Now I have an idea! Lol

That tank-room is amazing but I was more impressed with @ChrisfromBrick 's observation on what I would call applied sciences.

If we took all of our tanks on earth and hooked them together we would still be tiny compared to the ocean. Our knowledge of the functioning of natures reefs is impressive but also insignificant to a large extent.

Call it other?

If I were thinking big win spending, I would probably take an orbit tour around the earth and land in a Pacific island country far away from all my life and family responsiblities, if I was dreaming about good fortune.:beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Otherwise I would just enter another equipment contest on here and hope I win some technology that helps me out.
