Kick rocks: What do you use for aquascaping other than rocks?

Normally when we talk about aquascaping it really means “how do I place the rocks in my tank?” I get it. It is an important foundation for your corals and rocks provide many other benefits, but is there more to the aquascaping conversation? What else have you used for aquascaping in your tank or what have you seen others use? Did it work or was it a fail? Have you thought of an interesting aquascaping idea that you haven’t tried yet? Maybe you have sloped the sand, used frag racks in a creative way, or aquascaped only with corals. Tell us about your experience with aquascaping beyond the rocks and please share any tips that you have!

I loved using driftwood. Always tons of plants and now in the Salty side of things using Macro in the DT. Have also tried artificial coral but never quite liked that look and also pvc integrated in the rock for support.

Is that a bottle opener attached to your stand in the lower right corner of the above picture?! If so, I think you're a genius!

I incorporated oyster shells that I picked up in Appalachicola into my tall structure. They make perfect hiding places. My royal gramma loves them.

This is right up @N1tew0lf1212 's alley! He came up with a great non-standard aquascape that looks and works great!

I've used clear acrylic rods to support my rockwork and prevent rockslides.

Additionally I am developing a 3D printed rock that can hold standard reef plugs. I am currently in the prototype phase, but hope to have it available soon. It is such PITA to drill rock and attaching a mounting base seems like a better idea to prevent unnecessary coral loss. Plus, way easier to change locations for flow, lighting requirements as well as fragging and treating corals.

The tiles and other ceramic rocks out there look too unnatural even when covered by marine life.

Although I havent used it for scaping, I've extensively used extruded PVC ceiling tiles for other applications in my tank like overflows and weirs.
I am sure it would make a pretty interesting geometrically fun way to scape if anyone were so inclined. I may have to try it out.
In any event, Its super easy to use it to make impromptu frag racks if you don't want to use egg crate. But I think it floats...

I used a seahorse sand stone statue to give honor to the ponies I kept in the past and also to give my aquascape that 'lost city of Atlantis' look. It's in the back left.
