Hello,

I use AF products.
My tank is a red sea s max 400, I started it 2 month ago. I use Pro Biotic Reefsalt, Probio S, NP pro, Amino….. and Component +1,+2,+3.
I have a problem with my KH. - ca 410, mg 1300, kh 9,6 ( my kh is high from the start - I don’t know its cause - I think it comes from sand…)
How can I dose component 1,2,3, that my kh will be 7,5? Can I dose only component +1 and component+3? or only component +1? ( 400 L)
Thanks
Best regard

Ca daily consuption is 4mg , Kh daily consuption 0,05 dkh - that is the problem, my kh "can't change" ( kh was 10 days ago 10,1. (ca 450) It is today 9,6 (ca 410) - in this time I didn't use any component 1,2,3)

@jsker is a big fan of AF products. He recommends dosing the parts as needed, not necessarily keeping them balanced. I believe he also has a nice spreadsheet worked up that he may share. Let's see if he will join in.

Let KH fall to your level desired by discontinuing dosing, I would let all values dip, you can always manually dose CA and MG until KH value is met. Consistent KH is key to success of SPS keeping, assuming those are the corals you keep. Cheers

Yes, I dose different amounts of 1+2+3+ for my system. Each system is different and will use more of less of the 1+2+3+ I dose 1+3+ the same;) Yes I have the recipe converson of the 1+2+3+ and salt mix on a spreadsheet if you would like it please pm me with your email.

How many hard corals or SPS you have? As Perry said let it fall and once it reaches desired level you can start dosing. Till then you can manually dose Ca and Mg. Also what is your water change schedule?

I have 5 SPS, 9 LPS, and 10, Fish. I change water every 2 weeks, 10%. ( Nitrate 2, Phosphat 0,01) - while the values aren't ready , I don't buy more.....
Your and Parry' idea is good also... Thanks :)

Yeah you don't have to worry just let it go down by its own. Once it reach the desired level start dosing....one thing the fresh mixed salt kh should b near 8. So once you do water change it should lower the kh level a bit. Do you see a little lower kh just after water change and then do that increase overtime or stay same.
