Hi guys,

I am trying to mount a Kessil AP9X over a lowboy frag tank. It currently has an Eshopps Eclipse S overflow centered on the back. How would I be able to mount an AP9X to this tank so it would be centered? Ceiling mount is not really feasible. Will the mount fit inside the overflow box? Thanks for any input in advance.

You'd have to get the dimensions of the AP9X mount and Eclipse S overflow. I'm not sure if this would be the ideal place to mount it from a maintenance/reliability standpoint, though.

Not sure the alternatives that would center it on the tank.

Get an extension arm that attaches to your stand

Unfortunately this tank is on a table so this wouldn't work

It's too far away from the wall for it to be wall mounted annoyingly
Let's see a picture of your tank / stand location set up to see if other ideas

Also, is this a DT so the light need to be aesthetically pleasing or is this a utility grow/frag tank hidden in your maintaining room?

This is how I mounted my old set up directly to the tank using 80/20. See if this is an option.

I had a few old AI prime tank mount legs that I repurposed as the "legs". If you dont have that you can use the 8020 + corner bracket like so and add some rubber tap to soften the metal to glass contact if your tank is rimless. Something like this:

4 legs spread wide to the corners of the tank should be stable enough. Since the T-nut may slip overtime, I'd drill a hole thru the beam and fasten with a regular hex bolt /nut for this specific bracket

Perhaps I can help… I make the mount for the ap9x to fit on rail systems… looks like you need a rail to fit over the tank, which you can mount on the tank directly using 3d printed rail mounts.

Like the radion rails?

Rail system would definitely work

It's a frag tank for my school's marine lab.
