Received the Noopsyche K7 Pro II's today (a day earlier than tracking said it would get here.....that was a nice surprise). Many thanks to the folks over at Noopsyche for giving me the opportunity to test out these lights!

As soon as I got home, I dug into them and started seeing how they were boxed, the "feel quality", and made sure everything was there.

First off, they were packed pretty well. Nothing was damaged and everything looked perfect. I did miss the controller at first, it was in the same box as one of the mounts and I overlooked it in my haste/excitement. If you're interested, I did a quick unboxing video you can find HERE (It might be kind of boring, I'm not a blogger/videographer at all...haha!)

After unboxing, I powered up both lights to make sure they'd come on, they did. Mine flickered a little on initial power up, but only a couple of times....so no big deal I don't think. It could be the power connector to the light....one of them was a little loose, so I re-seated it a couple of times and it seems to be ok. If it comes loose, I'll just reconnect and give it a quick wrap with electrical tape.

**EDIT- after messing with them for a few minutes the next day, I figured out that if I twisted and pushed them harder (much harder than you would normally connect 2 cables together), they slipped together and formed a nice seal around the connection.

Next, I fiddled with the controller to figure out how to set it up. The instructions that come with the light can be a little confusing, and may be a little frustrating for some, but they're definitely good enough for me to figure out out to set it up. It's actually quite easy to connect the lights to the controller and to adjust the settings. Much easier than other lights I've used that have controllers similar to this one.

I didn't create my own manual settings, I used the automatic settings for SPS/LPS and then adjusted them just a little to try and make sure I don't fry my coral (I'm coming from T5's with XHO strips). I'll keep an eye on them over the next few days/weeks and make adjustments as needed.

Here's a pic of the tank right after I connected the lights (no tweaking, just SPS/LPS automatic setting)

And here's a shot of my tank after tweaking a little.

And finally, here's a couple of close ups of some of my coral under the lights.

I will say this, my wife LOVES Them!!!! She likes the way the tank looks with them and she hated the ATI T5 fixture I had hanging over the tank. And to that, I will say that the tank has a bit of a shimmer to it with these lights. Nothing not quite a Kessil shimmer, but it's still nice, and a lot more than I expected.

My initial thoughts are this:
  • Small footprint, very clean look over the tank
  • Lighting looks "clean and sharp", gives a little shimmer to the tank
  • Shipped well and arrived quickly
  • Fairly easy setup
  • Light seems to run a little hot, but not really hotter than the AI Hydra 26 HD's I had before
  • Spread is pretty good, I'll hold off commenting on it until I've seen them running a little more and see how my tank responds.
I'll update this thread at least once a week, so check back and see how it's going!

No worries. The instructions weren't so bad that I couldn't understand them at all, but they could be confusing to some. I still had it all figured out in less than 5 minutes, so not a huge deal for me.

btw, I was just looking at my tank now that it's later at night. It's cool that I can turn the lights down to 1% and use them as moon lights, so I don't need to hook up my dedicated moon lights.

@Waboss I measured 110 degrees on the light, in the realm of normal. I am editing the instructions & will send them back to noopsyche, since there were some translation issues. “Flip” verse “press”, etc.

Thanks!
How do I get the moonlight function?
Whenever I set them so that they go to 1% at the preset 7, they stay like that all night long. I want them to turn off at midnight

I think you can make your #1 data point, the 0 0 0 0 0 0 one, be at 11:59pm. Then the #2 data point will start your schedule.

We seem to be limited to 7 data points- it would be nice to be able to add a few more to make smoother transitions, but I dont know if that is possible.

I leave mine at 1% all night. BUT, I think @TheHarold is correct in that you could make point 1 midnight @ zero and that would shut it off (or adjust them all if using no. 1 instead of no. 7 would annoy you...haha)

Another quick video of the lights during my mid day settings so you can see the shimmer and spread.

The fixture bracket of your device seems to be turned around.

The correct operation is like this(This will be more force):

Thank you for noticing! I’m impressed!
I put it that way to fit my tank and make sure it works better ;)

I've been running the lights for about 6 days now. So far, I'm very pleased with them and like pretty much everything about them from a functional and appearance point of view.

The only thing I'm wondering about now is if I need to add another light to help with shading on my SPS (so I can turn the lights sideways for better front to back coverage and then still have plenty of light side to side). It doesn't look like there should be too much shading, but more than I want. Time will really be the only way to tell with that though.

Tomorrow I'll update with more photos and some more notes/comments.
