Just some pictures from the past year or two. Not a professional, but I am a natural artist. Though they don't win any contests, I think the subjects speak for themselves. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

looks great

Love the colors, thanks for sharing!

Looking good Matt!

Awesome pictures!
You just reminded me how badly my iPhone through clip-on filters really sucks.
Thank you! Just a fun side hobby of my hobby. I used a Canon dslr camera mostly for those, but with the right lenses, a phone can take very nice photos as well. Just gotta snap a lot of pictures and don't be afraid to play with the settings and experiment!

NICE.
I really need to break out my camera and learn how to take tank shots. I splurged and bought a Sony A700 mirrorless body and sigma 105mm 2.8 macro lens a while back but haven't spent the time to learn how to use it correctly. Years ago I was big into macro but it was dew drops in spider webs, bugs and little land creatures using a ring flash. Successfully shooting coral is much more difficult for me. It's like starting over lol.

That's awesome! I'm sure you'll figure this out too. I had no clue how to use the camera when I first bought it. But after some youtube videos and experimenting with the settings, I learned which functions do what. Also, a post editing software like Lightroom and Photoshop really help. The key is to use your artistic ability with color and shadows without overdoing it like many do. My goal is a realistic photo, with a hint of my personal interpretation, without oversaturation or contrast.

My two favorites. I still have both but older versions that don't require a subscription but still allow me process the Sony raw files.
Do you use a flash at all? Just wondering because I've read of some people using one for tank shots. I have an off camera flash also which I need to learn how to use. Too many hobbies and not enough time. Never would have thought I'd say that when I retired :face-with-tears-of-joy:

I tried using a flash, but switched to turning up the tank lights and turning off the flow. I keep the iso as low as I can and use an f stop around 6-7. Also a tripod and remote for macro. I have a continuous shot setup also, so I can snap pics one after another by holding in the button when not using a tripod.

And not to spam my channel, but I made a video for those starting out with reef photography using their phones. My goal is to help get rid of the blue pics we all know so well! :grinning-squinting-face:
