Less is NOT more in this hobby (in my irrelevant opinion), and the more, the merrier! Just kidding. Just like some people aren't cut out for multiple kids, others aren't for multiple tanks. But for those of you who suffer from MTS (multiple or multi-tank syndrome), join our support group today! To get into the club, you must first answer this question...

I have 3 tanks . 120 gallon sps mushroom. 22.4 seahorse mushroom acan planted and gorgonians. Qt tank 20 gallon. Soon to be frag tank plugged to 120. The big tip is have one large tank thats stable and use water from that tank to feed smaller tanks water changes. It will lessen the need for extra saltwater.

I have way too many. For reef tanks, I have a 20-gallon cube mixed reef, a 13.5-gallon Evo LPS/softie tank, and a 10-gallon frag tank. I also have a 2.5-gallon tank set up for a gorilla crab hitchhiker. He's our garbage disposal.

For freshwater, I have a 200-gallon discus tank, a 55-gallon that I just set up to move some angelfish and geos into, a 10-gallon with white cloud minnows and some freshwater shrimp and a 10-gallon at work with endlers.

My plan for my reefs is to get one larger system, preferably 125 to 200 gallons and consolidate all of the nano reefs into that one over time. My advise is to get the largest tank you can afford, accommodate and maintain and focus your energy on that instead of several smaller tanks.

Lots. With the exception of time, It doesn't matter how many or what size a system is. What's important, in equal levels of importance, patience, consistancy, be proactive not reactive and don't take anything for granted (complacency kills).

3 Systems, the. biggest recommendation I have is to plumb them all to one sump so you can maintain only one set of filtration and water perameters. Started out with two systems and keeping up with both made the hobby no fun, since all my time was spend testing and maintaining and never enjoying, but once I plumbed them together it gave me time to enjoy the hobby.

Counting the sumpfugium and a couple of 15g AIOs I'm cycling, I guess I have 5 after starting in 2022, and not a day goes by that I'm not thinking of building more shelving to add a dozen more.

My biggest tip is that adding and setting up multiple tanks is easy if you plumb them all together in one water system. The two AIO systems I just set up are a real pain to top off, each requires their own equipment, etc, but the three tanks that make up my display system all share equipment, water quality, sump, refugium, etc. If I break down and buy one of those 60g breeders I see at Petco, then I just have to plumb it to my system, add water, and poof it's cycled, colonized by copepods, and ready for more coral. Oh, and the greater the water volume in your system--especially if it's running through cycled rock/sand sitting in tanks without fish--the more/better your water quality and stability. I only keep fish in the display tank, and having multiple tanks with cycled rock and CUC really keeps nutrients from getting out of control.

I have 3 salt and a koi tank that I enjoy. The best tip I have is to participate in the many contests that are on-going on Reef2Reef. Its a great way to have fun and win cool stuff for building new set-ups and expanding your participation in the hobby.

5 tanks. Reason it works for me and my schedule is I use the main tank display water for the macro algae display's monthly water changes. Main tank is on AWC system. The 3 tanks in the basement are technically one system, since they are all connected. So basically running two systems. Still a lot of work, but I appreciate the redundancy.

and also load capacity on your circuits lol I find even just running a single tank in my basement in Canada is using up a lot of the 15amp capacity.

I currently have 4 running. What I do to to make it easy is keep it simple. No controllers or dosers to malfunction. No skimmers to clean. ATO and go. Anytime I even think about automating I just come on here and read through a few posts of the problems people are currently having and it passes.

Zero. I'm about 8 months out from launch. By then I'll have 2 tanks. A 203g DT and 40g breeder as a QT. Probably gonna start the 40g early and populate it with a few fish and some corals. It'll give me something to brag about!!

At one time I had 7 tanks with the smallest being 60 gallons. Most were 180 , 200 , 240. I was younger and it didnt seem like a big deal. Now Im much older and just downsized to a 35 long AIO. From here on out I'm gonna try and enjoy this hobby on a smaller scale
