Getting back into the hobby after taking a pretty long break. Pick up a used JBJ RF-45 that was in excellent shape. Came with an AI Hydra 32 HD, Tunze 9004 protein skimmer (non DC). Has the stock return pumps. I added an IM Helio PTC 200w heater, an AI Nero 3, Ecotech Versa dosing pump, and a Trigger 5 gal ATO reservoir. Will be dosing kalkwasser as part of top off. Picked up some Real Reef rock and CaribSea sand and just filled it up today. Here are a few pics.

Sounds like you got a good deal. The stock pumps are rated at 264gph each if that helps. I have seen where some put a wye in and just use one pump. The Sicce Syncra SDC 3.0 is a nice pump, plus with it being DC it is controllable, although a bit pricey. Best of luck with your tank.

Think I’ll just go with 2 smaller pumps close to the stock gph, for redundancy purposes. & I had the sdc 7.0 before it was nice but just a pump, I had the IM mighty jet I liked better because it was more simple and had the feed mode button lol & yessir same to you

Just got my Kraken Reef lid delivered, fits like a glove. Very impressed with the quality of their work. Still feel it is a bit overpriced but definitely prefer it over the two stock glass covers.

Nice I just don’t like how wide it is around the perimeter , what light you using, & you have the ai magnet in the water?

That’s the pump I just bought to replace stock pumps. I haven’t been able to find a Y adaptor for the hoses so it’s just sitting in the box and driving me crazy. If anyone knows where to get one I would really appreciate it.

A you show pics of the very back of the lid? Where the lid meets the ATO wall? I’m wondering if fish can still make the jump into the ATO sections, then jump out from there. I’m. It I. Front of my rank but i thought the ATO wall didn’t go all the way up. The lid looks so good tho. I’m between this one and the Clearview Picese EXO.

Also what is the cord cutout for? Do you have cords in the display??

The magnet in the water is no problem?
Now I understand your comment about the magnet. I assumed it was OK, I will do some searching for other posts on the topic. Will probably contact AI support and see what they say. I like the look of it better on the back wall vs the side glass. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

There is a small gap, less than 1/4 inch. You are correct that the AIO wall is lower than the side glass. I did the cutout for my AI Nero 3 although with the gap I probably did not need it, the cord is pretty thin.

I did go back through the Nero instruction sheet. It always refers to that magnet as being the "dry side" magnet. I went ahead and moved it to the side glass. Probably better for flow anyway going across the return pump flow. Again, thank you for bringing this up.
