My Kenya tree appears to be dying. I have had them close up when unhappy, but this time it appeared to shed all its branches then turned blueish green. Thought it would come back out of it, but seems to be getting worse. Parameters are not ideal, my nitrates got high, but not way out there and softies generally like a dirtier tank. But they have been reasonably stable. Also my Trachy seems to be billowing up really full looking almost balloonish.

Parameters
Nitrate 36.3 Hanna HR
Phosphate .04 Hanna ULR
Salinity 1.025 Hanna probe
Temp 78.4 Same hanna
Alk. 10.09 Trident
Cal. 362 Trident
Mag. 1418. Trident

nitrates were higher, but I have brought them down slowly. I dose Seachem Fusion 1 and 2 for 2 part, and homemade NOPOX vinegar vodka RODI, and Phosphate-E lanthanum chloride.

Any insight would be great. The healthy pic is in my other reef with similar parameters except Ca higher (had an issue with dosing Ca in the problem tank, but bringing it back slowly).

Thanks for any info.

Sorry to hear. I had a Kenya do the same and it seemed to really foul and cloud the water. It took multiple water changes and carbon to regain control of the tank. It was bad. I'd never seen this kind of reaction before from a Kenya (I thought they were bullet-proof!). Didn't think it had the ability to start crashing a tank! Watch it carefully and get it out in time if no hope.

Thanks,
Nothing cloudy about the water but I will start monitoring it for stiffness or softening as your right I don’t want it to rot away in the tank.
