hello.

I have just noticed a small what appears white spot on my fox face.

it is very small and appears to be more of a dimple in some photos than a raised lump.

for defence I have a yellow and purple tang in the tank as well. Not sure if the tangs tail spine could’ve done then dimple ?

here are the photos

The spot in the middle, below the dorsal fin? That isn't ich. It is most likely an injury. Probably will not need any treatment.

That said, watch for any other symptoms in the fish - new spots, rapid breathing, not feeding well. From time to time we get posts here where the original complaint isn't the only thing going on in a tank, and while the person finds out the original issue isn't much of a problem, some other trouble is brewing. This issue is commonly seen in newly acquired fish that weren't quarantined. For example, the foxface could have flukes, and scraped its skin while trying to scratch itself...

Appears to be a form of cyst similar to lymphocystis
Provide good water quality and diet
As stated by Jay, no formal treatment I can say will change it

Okay thank you for your reply. I will keep an eye out for any change in behaviour. He currently seems to decimate the nori with the other tangs so his feeding is good.
