Upped the doser feeding liquid foods (Oyster Feast / Phyto Feast / ROE / Tigger Pods, all Reef Nutrition) for the fish, and this stuff is growing a bit more quickly that usual. This is the glass after Fri/Sat/Sun (below). Just wondering if this is regular old film algae or if it could be something else. It's a bit brownish, but maybe it's not supposed to be green. No problems with dinos in the sand/rocks, and I have no other type of algae growing in the tank except coraline algae and a few Valonia bubbles that I'm manually removing every day or two. Thanks!

Looks like it to me :)
Thanks. Was pretty thick and coming off in gooey sheets, flying all around the tank. Shouldn't bother anything, right? Or should I be trying to suck it up? Tank looks fine after a scrape:

Beautiful scaped tank, you have the refrigerated reef nutrition foods on a doser? Or do you mean you are hand dosing those which is how I do it?

Just scrape it and get some more snails and you'll be good.

Doser! I set up this new tank in March in my office with the goal of "not feeling guilty about not feeding everyone over the weekend". Fridge is in the cabinet, holes drilled in for tubing/wires, doser sucks up a slurry of Reef Nutrition food that goes through a T barb inside the fridge, then another head pushes RODI through the other T barb hole to flush the Reef Nutrition out of the tube and into the tank. 5x per day.

Blue line dumps food into the display:

The fish have learned when the food is getting dispensed. A wifi smart power strip cuts off the return pumps a few minutes before the food gets dispensed, but leaves the gyre in the display running, so it blows the food everywhere. Same with the Eheim pellet dispenser. The pellets drop in around the same time and the gyre blows them around without them going into the overflow.

Fish are getting fat:

Thinking a Reefcleaners order is due. Bunch of nerites have been dying over the past month. Thinking they are falling or getting knocked over and then snacked on by the wrasses... Maybe more astraeas and trochus, since they seem to be left alone.

I would recommend saltwateraquarium.com for your cleaners. They are huge and come packaged expertly in individually secured containers unlike the ridiculous wet napkins from Reef cleaners. The quality of the cleaners is night and day different for the better.

The color suggests diatoms or dinoflagellates. The film does not hold together well like it would if it was 100% filamentous cyanobacteria.

I had two turbos (and an urchin) that I loved in my Evo. They did too much work. I spent several months hand feeding them every other night--nori for the turbos and algae tabs for the urchin. Finally decided it was silly and they'd be better in a tank with more algae.

Turbos are good. Maybe too good...

That's one impressive feeding station you've built yourself there! There's a massive gap in the market for a feeder that can dose fresh/frozen food like yours, I'd definitely get one if there was one available.

Your design's really cool (no pun intended lol...) :)
