My last post was removed from meet and greet??? I cant find it back? Anyways short version cuz im not typing my whole introduction about me and my tank again

Is this yellow sponge?? Is it harmfull to the zoanthus coral growing on it?? (I assumed the zoanthus died like 3 years ago, only the rock was left so i thought) Do I need to cut off that part of stone and remove the sponge surrounding it or can I just leave it like this? U can vaguely see the zoan in the middle of the rock on the second picture, its very small

The sponge isn't exactly harmful to the zoanthid, but it could smother the polyp over time. The texture of a sponge isn't exactly ideal for zoanthids to spread out on either. I would just leave things the way they are and see what happens. No need to do anything drastic for one polyp. GL.
