No the question is how expensive is it to replace floors carpeting, and livestock. get a new tankHow hard is it to take apart and reassemble a tank.
I know it's easy to spend someone else's money, but if you don't have experience resealing tanks, my advice is still to abandon this one and look for something else. Lots of good used tanks for sale...How hard is it to take apart and reassemble a tank.
the hard part is the silicone removal ....the ABSOLUTE removal of the old silicone. After you carefully scrape off what you can with a razor blade, you need to use PVC pipe cleaning solution to remove even the tiniest patch of silicone residue. If you leave the residue, that will be where your seam failure happens. It' take hours and hours to scrape off the old silicone. How hard is it to take apart and reassemble a tank.
it's a real pain. completely do-able...but a real pain.Never done it personally, so I can't say. There are videos on YouTube on how to do it. I would figure it to be a weekend project though.
Is it honestly worth the effort. Like I wanted this tank so my Oscar can grow up big and strong but would it just be a better idea to scrap it and get a new tankthe hard part is the silicone removal ....the ABSOLUTE removal of the old silicone. No, honestly not worth the effort. Should be fairly easy to find a reasonably priced freshwater tank.Is it honestly worth the effort. Like I wanted this tank so my Oscar can grow up big and strong but would it just be a better idea to scrap it and get a new tank

I actually got two of these tanks for free. I’ll take pictures of the other one to hear y’all’s opinion on that one.I agree with the others. Get a new tank.
Doesn't mean you need to scrap the old one though. Keep is and rebuild it. Then you will have 2 tanks!!

It was worth a shot. I think the stand was more valuable than the tank tbh. I’ll see if Aqueon sells a tank with the same dimensions.I think you got what you paid for unfortunately...
