Is this a feather duster or something else? Found it poking out of some algae

It retracts whenever I get close to it or disturb the flow around it, and comes back out about 10 seconds later. I'm guessing a feather duster but I've never seen one so im not too sure

The pic is not clear, but I would put my money on a ball anemone
Best photo i could get, the thing is so little. I actually had to borrow my roommates phone to take a picture of it because his camera is better than mine. Might be helpful to note it looks like it has some sort of appendage coming straight out the center, which was why I was leaning towards feather duster. It is my understanding they have some sort of fork that helps them grab food

It doesn't look like the dusters I've had, but maybe it's just the photo. Regardless, its probably benign so just keep an eye on it.

Probably ball or Majano anemone. Both are pests.
Agree 100% with Majano, but ball anemones are not pests, they are actually pretty cool and do not multiply at a pace that would put them anywhere near the pest classification. They are one of the really neat things that pop up in our reefs.

Do you have any rock flower anemones in your tank? I do not believe this to be a ball anemone at all.

I've had dusters that were red and white striped and looked similar to that. They usually preferred the underside/dark side of rocks. If that is one then it's tube could be in that film/sponge that appears to be surrounding it. Does it look like it's a ring of very tight feathers?

Honestly you guys arent missing out on too much detail with those photos. There wasnt really any discernable features other than what you see here. It is very tiny and I could not tell if it has any kind of pattern on it

I did just clean the algae off of the rocks and I tried to gently peel away the algae to get a good look at it with a small needle but it must be real dang tiny closed up because I could not find it. Oh well. Maybe I'll see it again another day. Anemone or worm, I'm not too concerned about it being much of a pest. Cheers anyways guys, thanks
