As the title says I was wondering if there is a silicon I can use whilst the tank is running?

I have 3D printed a custom weir. The weir is currently glass with 2 black acrylic sheets stuck to it with silicon.

I am looking to just stick these to the acrylic so was thinking silicon or the other option would maybe be coral glue as I know thats safe to use whilst the tank is running.

any ideas?

oh and also I dont have a 100% infil on it so there is a lot of air gap within the print.

Do you think I should drill holes in it to let water in? Im thinking its a place where pods and stuff could go.

downside to this I think maybe the water might not get enough movement within or it becomes dirty within and becomes a nutrient nightmare.

The dirty water nightmare would be my best guess! The only options you have are draining the tank and letting it dry out and silicone it in and let it cure for a few days or use super glue.. I wouldn’t drill any holes in personally. Or make it where it fits tight and almost snaps or stays into place… maybe a rock against it? Then it’s removable for cleaning etc.

Gorilla glue gel

Throw a bead along the entire seam and then put underwater and push in place. Hold for 30 seconds. It will cure just fine. Just be quick laying the initial bead

DO IT THE EASY WAY>>> Rubber coated Neodymium Magnets glued in place with GOOD super glue just to the inside of the weir.. Then Magnets on the outside of the tank to hold it in place... That way its super easy to clean it inside and out just hold it in place and pull outside magnets one by one.. Small 1/4 round, 1 inch long, I ordered some from some place out of Texas. They can also be super glued with GOOD super glue (beware there is a difference). It would take about fourteen to hold it like permanently in place, 7 inside and 7 outside. It doesn't look to heavy - 1/2 lighter in water... I have built cut rock and make rock shelves using these and they work exceptional. I currently have 4 nice selves using only eight of these. :) :) They where only like $12 bucks for 10 free freight.... You better order A LOT of them as they are so stinkin useful building anything. I use them to pull any wire of any kind up the backside of my tanks, using fishing line and these magnets aka... temp probe, salinity, ph, dose lines, ect...ect... Good trick here! I will get back to you with company and part numbers... Reef on... And good luck... Its a nice build by the way.. It would match hacksawed rock shelves absolutely perfectly to a tee... build some! Nice build! ;)

Actually I just saw a new silicon that can be used underwater to even repair a leaking tank. It was a product shown at the recent Interzoo in Switzerland and I saw it on Melevsreef latest youtube video titled 'Let's talk about Interzoo, Switzerland, Trident, NP, MACNA...' it's at 46:45 in the vid.

I googled it and read BRS reviews. Not very promising at all, but there again whos doing the repair? I just e-mailed the factory with no less then 7 questions all about the use, set-up time, the ability to hold weight - and the times of, full cure time, and does it in fact remain pliable ect... ect.. Just waiting for return e-mail soon, It's night there..lol. Good find Carol good-un... I will post back here soon.. This would be fantastic for repairing tank overflow boxes as the silicone always gives out. Thanks again fellow reefers...

The new silicon that can be used underwater is by: Aquarium Munster ORCA Unterwasser Kleber. German product. Interesting Delatediotus about BRS, I'll have to ck that out. Looking forward to the answers to your questions.

So...is this is where the micro plastics in the water come from?
