Is the DOS QD just a direct upgrade of the DOS?

Spec wise they seem the same, except for the QD being quieter and able to be continuously driven.

Fair to say the original DOS will be discontinued then in the long run?

I believe it is. I have 2 of the original ones and was so disappointed with the upgrade. Yes they have fixed the major issue with sound but they could have done so much more. Why not make it work stand alone as well as with the Apex. Currently, if our Apex's die for any reason, all dosing stops. I honestly thought we would see more innovation.

Not really sure what folks were expecting. Noise was never much of an issue for me, but continuous operation is nice. I’d hoped it would be able to sprout legs and take my dog for his daily walk …. but, alas, apparently that never occurred to Neptune.

They could have made it have an actually waterproof casing.

If the head units tubing breaks it can leak into the casing. Same if you have the dos stacked vertically like they’re designed to do.

Not sure. Kinda weird that Aperture came out with tweaks on old products rather than completely new products. I wonder if it was just to renew the patents? Kinda like Radions, and now the a360xe lights.

I think part of it is the 3rd party custom cabinets and custom control boards that are sold by retailers.

It's so much easier to sell inventory when products have the same footprint and form factor.

Plus, was the case to the DoS done uniquely or commodity sourced? Dunno, but if a new injection mold is needed then that significantly increases cost.
