Hello all,

Can someone tell me if my Pectinia is not doing so well? It looks like it is sprouting something in a couple of places.

Pectinia Photo.jpg

My tank parameters are as follows:

- Magnesium - 1405 ppm
- Calcium - 405 ppm
- Alkalinity - 8 dKH
- Phosphates - .09 ppm
- pH - 8.3
- Nitrates - 12 ppm
- Ammonia - 0
- Nitrite - 0

Tested with a Hanna Instruments HI97115 Marine Master Multiparameter Photometer.

Thanks!

There is tissue recession at the tips. Algae is growing on the exposed skeleton now. Why the pectinia is in decline can vary. Lighting is too low, too much flow, shrimp, an aggressive neighboring coral.

These are also an LPS and not SPS.

Thanks and sorry for posting on the wrong discussion page. I tried to remove my post but not sure how to do it. If you can let me know, I'll take it down.

You dont need too. It's not serious. Just wasn't sure if you knew if it was an lps or not.

The one you have prefers lower flow. They are not big on medium, causes their flesh to deflate.

Thanks Goaway! I will definitely move it to a lower flow in my tank.
