I want to calculate tank turnover and I know I can use a bucket and count the time for water to fill it but I’m not going to to that right now.
I want to know if my math makes sense. Even if it’s a little off, it will give me a very good idea of tank turnover.
So here it is :
From Ecotech. I drew a line at approximately 8 feet and result looks like 1150 GPH.
Am I right ?
Thanks
I want to know if my math makes sense. Even if it’s a little off, it will give me a very good idea of tank turnover.
So here it is :
- Head pressure : 4 feet in the stand and tank + 4 x 90 degree elbows at 1 foot per elbow = 8 feet of head pressure
- 8 feet of head pressure = 1150 gph (see graph below) at the pump maximum speed
- Max speed of pump after calibration = 10/12 lights on the dial or 83%
- 83% Vectra x 1150 GPH = 954,5 GPH
- Regular running setting on Vectra = 5/12 lights or 41,7%
- 954,5 GPH x 41,7% = 398 GPH
- 398 GPH / 145 gallons tank + sump = 2,7 turnover
From Ecotech. I drew a line at approximately 8 feet and result looks like 1150 GPH.
Am I right ?
Thanks
