Hey, so i have purchased a mazarra maxspect for very cheap (~ 50 dollars) even i clearly don't need it (in case i evolve to a bigger tank).
As it's for my 3 gallons bowl, i'm turning it on 10%. My question is : a simple timer on/off would be enough or is it worth to buy a controler? (found one for 90 dollars).
I'm wondering if it would stress out the little live stock i'm planing to have (soft corals).
Or is there any cheaper solution like a DIY controler?

Thanks for your answers :)

A timer for a lamp will do.
Rasberry pi controllers can be used, there should be a thread here to check.
Controllers come into play when there are multiple things that require timing scenarios.
Yep i was thinking about this rasberry pi also! I only wondered about light shocks for live stock. I heard it could bleach some corals.
