Is color changing CO2 scrubber media harmful if it contaminates tank?

I messed up somehow setting up a recirculating CO2 scrubber. The media got wet and water flowed into the tank from the reactor. pH shot up to 8.79 and took about 8 hours to return to a normal level. Alkalinity also rose from 8.5 to 10.4. 12 hours later it's dropped to 10.0. Thus far I see no immediate issues with the tank but added ROX GAC due to concerns about the pink color changing CO2. It didn't appear to lose it's color so I don't know if any "chemicals" washed off of it, or if they could be harmful if they did.

The components will certainly raise alk and pH quite a bit. Also calcium. If those rises do not cause problems, then any risk is from impurities which we have little info on.

IMO, the dye is no concern.

Thanks. Do you feel there is any reason for me to continue to run GAC?
