They reached out to me and offered the deal. It was in stock. I agreed. 24 hours later out of stock before I could buy it

I am not an inkbird customer, or even a fan for that matter. I signed up for the free meat thermometer. I was clearly told that I would pay for it and be refunded via paypal after a review. I never submitted my request for refund after purchase. They did follow up with me to remind me that they wanted to refund me if I left a review.
I simply did not feel comfortable writing what would be fake review simply to get my reimbursement. I have yet to use the probe, too busy. So I paid full and it is in my cupboard.
The transactions appear to be fully on the level, as does this.
Buy the product, offer an amazon review and get reimbursed. I think the more expensive offer was the same deal. I declined because honestly, the larger model is too physically large and has more feature that I need or was interested in to just get something for free.
Folks - they made an offer for a free device, take it or leave it. It can't be "bait and switch" there is no purchase and dishonest replacement here. You either accept their terms for a free product and review or you don't.
Save the outrage for the real scammers out there, not a company offering you free products in return for a a verified review, good or bad.
If you would have followed through with the conversation with them, they would have explained what you need to do to participate. No where in this thread or email did it say anything about a review or getting the 10-in-1 for free with a review. When you hit the link it takes you to amazon and is way more expensive. If you’re left out nothing is explained. Also remember I am the “Bitter old man”.
Why would I follow up if I hit the link and it says it$159? I would have followed up if it said free if you give review. If you would have followed through with the conversation with them, they would have explained what you need to do to participate.
Given their numerous prior offers here, there is nothing dishonest or janky going on here.
Communication, vs assumption. But I assume bitter (by your own admission) is more appealing? Why would I follow up if I hit the link and it says it$159? I would have followed up if it said free if you give review.
I don’t get it eitherI am just stunned that people feel the need to pile on and feel wronged somehow. They company offered free stuff and people are complaining in one form or another. It is honestly mind boggling.

Not mad, just think they could’ve been a lot clearer. Funny how people get defensive over an opinion.Agreed.
Like I said, Inkbird could have been a bit more clear, but no reason to be upset about it. It’s like being mad that the lotto ticket you got for free wasn’t a winner.

I’m sorry you feel that way.
Defensive, or just pointing out misplaced bitterness?
Funny, yes but maybe not on the same way you think it is. All good though
and no hard feelings bitter old man. I do wonder if the bitterness aged you or the age is the cause of the bitterness? If I had ended up with a free one, I would send it to you just to help you smile, but alas, I opted out.
FWIW - am fully identify with "Get off my lawn you darn kids" and Oscar may be my soul mate... but I at least try apply my grumpiness with some logic.
Happy reefing!
