Hello just a general question. Assuming you have a tank that has been going for one year (50 gallon) and has 4 small sized fish. You want to introduce 2 new fish different species. You’ve quarantined and are ready to introduce them. Do you keep them isolated in a box in the tank for a bit of time? Or do you just let them go?

I would put the anthias in an acclimation box. Just beware these fish do best in harems not singly. Dottyback should be fine and hold its own but never hurts to use a box.

I think, be careful. I have always avoided dottybacks because their reputation is that they aggressive. I can see him quarrelling with the damsel or clowns.

So maybe a divider or box in the tank is a good idea - and rearrange the lanscape if you can just before releasing him.

My neon is captive bred and she only chases my zebra goby occasionally
