Hello all,
I have a large icecap fish trap I’ve been using to try to catch a 6-7+ inch Banana Wrasse. It does not come out if I’m within 10ft of the tank. I have put the trap on the edge and usually stand around the corner, but from watching across the room and around the corner he has not gone in the trap. Haven’t fed in 2 days and food is in the trap.
He only eats frozen krill.
He does not bury at night, he sits in between two rocks wedged in there.

(reason for catching is he’s eating my coral) has ripped up a whole hammer colony.

You have to bait it with its favorite food and allow it to go in and eat freely. Let it eat day 1 and day 2 and day 3 - prepare to trap it. Most traps come with 10ft of clear line. Add another 10-15ft of thread to the line and stand way back so it doesnt know you are there

How big is the tank?
A few Brute barrels and a strong portable pump.
Siphon the tank dry.
Pick the wrasse off the bottom.
Refill.

Low tide strands all fishes, and the corals will be fine for a few minutes before the tsunami surge puts water back in the tank.

Pro tip: Dig out a low spot in the substrate near the spot where you want the fish to go when you pick it off the bottom.

Clear plastic bag wedged in his favorite hole. Add a few small holes in back for water to pass through but not him. When he goes in and night you can grab hopefully before it realizes. Or as other said fish it out lol. Could also use a clear 2 litter cut and imvert top. Remove plastic label.
