Hello all. I had recently bought a flame angel from lfs, and believe it came down with ich. I spent two nights ago trying to get the angel into a quarantine, and it did not help my tang is not a fan of the angel. The angel was dead the next morning, I believe most likely from stress. Now, I see my tang rubbing against the sand. Is this a sign of ich. I have copper with me right now, should I treat even if not sure. I can’t really see any visible ich spots right now. Any help is greatly needed, thank you.

If the angel and the tang were in the same tank together then yes, you should get the tang into a quarantine tank and treat with copper. All tank mates should be treated as well.

Is this a fish only system or do you have coral?

I do have coral, but I am setting up a quarantine tank for it right now and will just treat the dt and put coral in qt. With the angel, I wasn’t completely sure if it had ich. Should I still treat with copper anyway?

Ich doesn't act that fast unless the fish was already unwell.

I got the fish about a week ago, so I thought ich can act in a week.
No it's a progressive disease and you don't want to copper your DT. It will bound in rocks and sand then leach back out so you will not achieve proper medicinal levels.

I’m not sure what to do. I don’t think I could fit a tang, clownfish, hawkfish, and valentini in a 15 gal qt while I am gone and a neighbor is taking care of them

Can you please provide a 30 second white light video of remaining fish? Youtube links work best.

If you don't see noticeable symptoms or problems with your current fish then I would just monitor the tank and see how things look when you get back. Tell your fish sitter to be alert. Flashing on the sand may be an indication of flukes or velvet.

It’s hard to see anything on camera. In the right lighting I may be able to see some spots on the clown, and I couldn’t get the tang in video, he has been lethargic today, along with flashing.

It definitely sounds like you got something in the tank, but hard to say what based on the info. I’m happy most made it through okay. There is a good chance it will flare up. Humblefish has a great right up on hydrogen peroxide in a display tank if you do not want to setup medicated QT
