Great to hear !!! Make sure it gets liquid vitamins such as SELCON and also garlic with feedings a couple days a week.
Foods-

Mysis
Plankton
Formula 2 frozen and flake
Spirulina brine shrimp
Seaweed laced with garlic extract
Thank you! Now I’m deciding to keep him in this tank and see if the ich comes back or set up a qt and go fallow for 76 days.

My new purple tang seemed to be looking healthy for the first few days and is now starting to worry me. White spots/dots are all over his body and fins. Is this ich or marine velvet? Or somthing else? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

I now have the purple tang in a qt and will begin cupramine treatment tomorrow. Does anyone think this is possibly velvet or just a bad case of ich? New picture is added.

Looks like Ich. Purple tangs do not do well in "ionic" coppers which Cupramine is one. They do better in "chelated" coppers like Copper Power. Here's a nice write up on what fish do good or bad with what copper, CP, TTM.
