I wasn't sure what channel to put this in, But it could be a diy calcium reactor.

I always get dry rock when I build a new tank. I've noticed when I use a salt that has a bit higher alk my rocks decay. I'm not complaining they don't completely fall apart. For example I got a big rock eventually some of it eroded and left me with this interesting lattice work of rock.

The Alk is around 11-12 when this occurs. My idea is when getting new rock have it in it's soaking container but filter your tanks water through the container. Thus soaking the rock, and adding a calcium reactor at the same time. You could even add CO2 to the container with the rock to increase the Alk.
