I have already had to get rid of a coral beauty for eating polyps and don't want to go down that road again.

I like the Royal Gramma. They are very colorful, and amusing to watch. Plus, they leave your coral alone.

I have heard horror stories of foxface eating zoas. I think it is pretty well documented that they are coral nippers. If you have one that doesn't consider yourself lucky.

I wish that I could have one. I really wanted to get one but since I had the bad experience of having to tear my tank down to catch the coral beauty and lost a few frags to his eating habit, I don't want to go back down that road again.

I agree with Junior, I would go with maybe a Carpenter's or a Fairy. They are both reef safe.

How long has the tank been set-up and what did you have in mind in a general sense? I was going to suggest a leopord wrasse. They can be finicky eaters so, microfauna is a plus. Will eat prepared foods. Don't really care about anyone/anything else in the tank except pods, bristleworms, "mini" brittles etc.

well, My LFS gave me a good deal on a rabbitfish so thats what I ended up with. If has time to grow for a while before I have to start working on my wife for a bigger tank. He seems pretty skiddish right now after the move but I am hoping he will get his color back soon. After reading up on them it seems that if they are well fed they are unlikely to develop a taste for corals. I have always wanted one so here's hoping it goes well. On a side note, welcome mission, I made my way over from that other forum and am much happier here.

Thanks for the welcome. My rabbitfish would take "test" bites. Not that it's trying to eat coral just testing it out to see if it's edible. As far as skiddish, that's how alot of people are stung. While working in your tank be careful because it will skiddishly dart through the tank with it's spines ready to rock.

I've had much better luck with angels than foxes and tangs for that matter.
