J was looking at my tank and in the live rock i saw a little head and he had the eyes like a mantis if i can trap him could he go into a 20g?

yes, 20g is a good size. make sure he has sufficient rock to hide and create a burrow.

They tend to prefer a decent depth sand bed too, from what I've seen.

20g will be a lot of unused space.

Most hitchhikers dont exceed 2".

If you have a spare 20 gallon, a mantis is the perfect excuse to fill it up. Otherwise, you could keep it in as little as 5 gallons.

Btw, Florida tiger gobies live around and in Florida mantis burrows. Add some live rock with macroalgae and you’ve got a sweet mantis tank.
